We've all heard that art is many things, and it can be many things. It's creation, and beauty, and questioning, and it is experimentation. I call my "fine art" my "experimental art," because it doesn't really fit into the typical "modern" or "contemporary" or "abstract" categories I have ever encountered.
So my next experiment with my art is adding a social media platform. Technically I already carried out a similar experiment earlier this year when I introduced my Facebook page to my identity on that platform, and the results have been pretty good. It's still has a ways to go, but just yesterday I gained 3 new likes from people I have never met, and I guess as a public artist, that is a form of success. Today I have debuted on Instagram. I have been putting it off, but at the suggestion of friends and professionals I've encountered, it seems like a reasonable expansion on the internet. Since I'm still a pretty decent introvert, and I don't really go mixing it up at galas or business parties, the internet is one of my biggest, mostly untapped networks. So please check me out, and follow me, if you like me or especially my work. (Which if you've read this much of my ramblings, I'm guessing you do.) Cheers, Sonia J. This time I was able to exhibit my larger remaining "Silver and Black" Organic Mosaics, such as featured here in my flier. These are the works I have wanted to be seen, in a greater way than simply a one night, or one day event, for years, since they were created in 2012. I also came away realizing that these works are far from finished. I have much more to do in this series. I want to spend the next while taking a step back and putting more energy into creating.
